The storyteller
Alexa Doctorow studied acting at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where she graduated with a First Prize diploma in 1998. She subsequently trained with Jan Fabre, Philippe Sireuil, Dominique Serron... And she continued her education at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
Alexa was awarded second prize for dramatic interpretation at the International Festival of Monologues in St. Petersburg, Russia in March 2003 for her role in Marie-Madeleine ou le Salut by Marguerite Yourcenar.
She has appeared on stage at various Belgian theatres, including the Théâtre Poème, Théâtre Royal du Parc, Théâtre de la Vie and the Théâtre de l’Equipe.
She also has acted in a variety of short films, full length films and advertising clips shown on Belgian television.
After the birth of her two children, Alexa’s interest in old and new fairy tales grew quickly. Together with her partner, she found it possible to create a theatre for children focused on fairy tales, imagination and poetry.
